How to apply
What should be in the cover letter? How can I prepare for a job interview? What can I expect in the Assessment Center? There are many questions in applying for a job. We have tips for you.
A cover letter
Basically, no cover letter is needed for your application to MAHLE. You can of course prepare one. Explain in the cover letter on a short page who you are, what you would like to do at our company, and why you are the right person for the job described, the trainee position or the apprenticeship position.
Your Resume
List all prior school and professional steps in your resume. Your resume should be complete, so that we can follow all positions during your career.
Of course, your contact data, including your address, telephone number, cell phone and fixed line phone numbers and email address, should also be in the resume. Please only give the telephone number at which we can most easily reach you.
Documents
Please send your certificates, proof of apprenticeships, continuing education and professional education as attachments to your application.
Job interview
You have the opportunity to get to know us better, first in the telephone discussion, then at a MAHLE site. That’s where we’ll present ourselves and your future area of expertise. Use the opportunity to clarify all questions which are relevant to your decision.
Thought of everything? Checklists for your application

What should I expect in a job interview?
An job interview gives us the opportunity to get-to-know each other. Of course, you will be nervous. However there is no reason for it. Be authentic and tell us about yourself. Take some time before you start answering our questions. If you haven't gotten our questions, clarify them. Please always keep in mind, that it is not a test. We are getting together in order to get to know each other.
Typical questions from our side could be:
- Why would you want to learn THIS profession?
- Why would you like to continue your education at MAHLE?
- What interests you about MAHLE particularly?
- Which school subjects did you like best?
- How can you provide your particular capabilities in your desired profession?
- What are your career plans?
In addition, there are many possibilities which can be useful in your preparation. Here's a small selection:
