Aside from the development and production of diesel pistons, engineers at the Technical Center in Okegawa, Saitama prefecture provide engineering solutions for Japanese passenger car, commercial vehicle application, stationary engines in the areas of pistons, bearings, camshafts and other products under the Group’s business unit “Engine Systems and Components”.
Historically Okegawa has been the sixth station of the so called “Nakasendo” road which led from Edo (today’s Tokyo) to Kyoto and thus has prospered as a post station where travelers could rest on their journey. The city is also known for its safflower used for seed oil and dyeing. Okegawa can be reached within 1 hour ride by train from central Tokyo.
